Cake love: quote inscribed wedding cake with edible ink

Wedding cake with edible quote inscribed

If you’re wondering what kind of wedding cake you might like, have you ever considered inscribing a couple of the layers with an edible quote?  I hadn’t, but think it’s a great idea, especially for all those couples who have found lots of lovely sayings, quotes or readings – if you have too many to cram into your wedding ceremony, why not choose one to be written on your cake.

I found it really difficult to choose just a few readings for our wedding ceremony in order to keep it meaningful and from going on and on…  In the end we chose just three readings (if you’re interested in what we chose you can read about it here), so I think to get a quote written in edible ink onto your wedding cake is a really nice idea – especially if you are having a tiered wedding cake it will be gazed upon by all your guests.

If you are new to the blog, every Friday I post a wedding cake that I love, something that I hope is a little bit different to your traditional wedding cake to inspire you – do check out my other Cake Love posts for more ideas.

I love this! DO you know where I can buy some, Charlie?

Hi Louisa – great question! I asked on Twitter and the lovely Aunt Julie’s Bakery advised me you can either use gel colour and a paintbrush or pens. You can buy them from here or here Hope that helps! So pleased you love the idea :)
