A living lavender table plan for a summer wedding and how to create it yourself
Firstly a big warm welcome if you are coming here today for the first time – I do hope you’ll find lots of ideas and inspiration to help you plan your wedding. My bit of inspiration for today is for anyone having a summer wedding and who doesn’t want a traditional paper table plan.
This idea is really sweet, using white painted pots, filled with lavender plants as a table plan. Small blackboards display the table numbers – you can get them on pegs so you could clip them to the side of the pot, or on sticks that can be pushed into the soil. Below I’ve included some examples you can get from Cox and Cox (you can find them under the Celebrate section and then in Table Decorations).
With each pot of lavender representing a table, you just need to need to create the lolly stick place names. You can get traditional thin lolly sticks or wider ones from craft shops (probably from Ebay too), then simply stamp each persons name onto a lolly stick and push them into the right table pot.
I love how they’ve displayed some of the pots of lavender up on mini wooded step ladder – it makes much more a statement and when you’ve gone to all that work to create such a nice table plan you should show it off. Plus, the lavender is so pretty it will become part of your floral decorations.
If you like this idea, you might like my homemade planted place name pots (please excuse the bad quality of the images – they are from 2009 and I haven’t yet had a chance to adjust the images to the new blog format) – they double up as place names and wedding favours.
