Matchboxes filled with confetti

Charlie

confetti filled matchboxes

I thought this idea for decorated matchboxes filled with confetti for New Year (I want to go to that party!) would be an equally fun for a wedding.  We’ve all seen confetti cones or baskets of confetti, but why not decorate matchboxes and fill them with confetti to give out to your family and friends for the confetti toss?  More details can be found here.

There is a really easy way to make the ‘hole punched’ confetti inside these matchboxes. I worked briefly in a reprographics department with an industrial hole punch. At the end of the week you would empty out a bag full of multi-coloured circles. I actually kept a weeks worth in a glass jar for a while. just pop along to your nearest printers/college/uni and smile at the repro staff! Of course you have no control over the colour scheme but a nice way to reuse something that normally gets thrown away.

What a fab tip :) It’s insider knowledge like this that we need – I can’t quite imagine having the patience to hole punch enough confetti for my wedding…
