What a sweet idea – attaching a sprig of herbs with a string bow around the top of a small jam jar to make a pretty tealight lantern. I’m a bit obsessed by turning jam jars into lanterns, but for me they work so well on so many levels:
- you are reusing something (an old jam jar) that otherwise would have gone in the bin or the recycling
- without too much effort you can make it into something really neat and useful (a lantern)
- and there are so many ways you can decorate them
You can also go one better and source soy wax tealights like those sold by Hapi Bean Soy Candles.
Who’s with me on the jam jar lantern love?

Love this! We are making jam jar lanterns for our wedding next August. I might steal this herb idea, it’s so sweet. x

yes! i love the idea. We will be using them on the tables at our reception… some to hold flower, and some to hold candles. I’ve found so many pretty ideas for using jars that I am needing to narrow down which ones I will actually put on the tables!
