For many of the flower businesses listed on the directory who grow their own flowers, they will have just finished up a long summer wedding season.  Rachel from Catkin Flowers told me she’s been non-stop since May – phew!  So it’s been nice to get a chance to catch up with her and find out what she’s been up to this summer.

Catkin Flowers are based in Lincolnshire where they grow all their own seasonal flowers and foliage in their cutting garden.  Rachel has been sharing with me some of the beautiful creations she’s made for weddings this summer and I thought you’d all like to have a look at them too.

Rachel has done the flowers for a lot of vintage inspired weddings, such as this one in a Papa-Kåta tipi, and this stunning trailing bouquet…

And from the same wedding this stunning bouquet of green, blue and white – and some fab twisted twigs…

This is perhaps one of the most fun ideas I’ve seen for a while, a fun flower arrangement in a pair of old wellies – I love the grasses and hope this is something we’re going to see more of…

In complete contrast, Rachel did a wedding at the beginning of September which had bouquets with a ‘just picked’ look, filled with Lavender, Scabious and peach coloured Roses…

And the tables were decorated in a very elegant vintage style, with cut glass rather than china, and kept very simple with sprays of cream flowers and candles – this just shows how gorgeous keeping it simple can be…

Rachel’s also done a couple of vintage tea party style weddings, with jugs full of big blousey flowers…

And tea cups and teapots filled with a few flowers and sprigs of herbs…

Back in June Rachel did the flowers for a wedding in a field, so she included lots of field grasses and Scabious to reflect the ceremony setting – so pretty…

The most recent wedding she has done had a lovely relaxed and natural feel to it – how beautiful is that combination of pale green and peachy pink?  And I love the way the rustic metal bucket contrasts against the delicate romantic flowers.

If you’re been inspired by the flowers here, Catkin Flowers are based in Lincolnshire and Rachel would be more than happy to discuss with you ideas for your wedding flowers.  Visit her website www.catkinflowers.co.uk or contact Rachel at catkinflowers@tiscali.co.uk.
