Vintage hankerchief bunting
Charlie / 28 August 2011
A fun idea for anyone who wants a hint of vintage and colour at their wedding – bunting made from vintage hankerchiefs. I also particularly like that these hankies have been left square, rather than cutting or folding them to create the traditional triangle shape of bunting.
I wanted to have a pile of vintage hankerchiefs at our wedding to be used as napkins for our afternoon tea, but I found it hard to source enough. I searched Ebay and my local carboot sales, and whilst my energy into looking for them petered out, I definitely think this would be possible if you gave yourself enough time to look for them.
The brilliant thing is that after your wedding they would make a lovely addition to a bedroom, wound and draped over your bedframe or hung from a wardrobe. That is, of course, if your husband lets you.
