Pretty rustic details for a natural wedding

If you’ve been following my blog for a while know, you will know that I like ideas that are simple and not difficult to acheive.  What could be simpler than these folded napkins tied with some rustic twine and a sprig of herbs or single flower tucked beneath? Vintage hankerchief bunting

A fun idea for anyone who wants a hint of vintage and colour at their wedding – bunting made from vintage hankerchiefs.  I also particularly like that these hankies have been left square, rather than cutting or folding them to create the traditional triangle shape of bunting. I wanted to have a pile of vintage hankerchiefs at our wedding to be used as napkins for our afternoon tea, but I found it hard to source enough.  I searched Ebay and my local carboot sales, and whilst my energy into looking for them petered out, I definitely think this would be …

Our rustic country wedding – across a field of buttercups and down the church path

Cake love: a rustic lavender and rosemary wedding cake

I really like the simple use of fragrant herbs to decorate this simple white tiered wedding cake.  A handful of fresh lavender sprigs, carefully laid around the top layers of the cake, and around its base a circlet of rosemary and bay leaves.  Really achievable for any DIY bride.  This cake is from an equally gorgeous Californian wedding I recently spied.
