Pretty rustic details for a natural wedding

If you’ve been following my blog for a while know, you will know that I like ideas that are simple and not difficult to acheive.  What could be simpler than these folded napkins tied with some rustic twine and a sprig of herbs or single flower tucked beneath? Twine like this can be bought from most garden centres now, or you can buy it online from places like Nutscene – a valuable resource for all natural, DIY brides. I love for recycled brown card – and I like how this invitation has the white writing, although I’m still looking for effective …

Vintage hankerchief bunting

A fun idea for anyone who wants a hint of vintage and colour at their wedding – bunting made from vintage hankerchiefs.  I also particularly like that these hankies have been left square, rather than cutting or folding them to create the traditional triangle shape of bunting. Cake love: a rustic lavender and rosemary wedding cake

I really like the simple use of fragrant herbs to decorate this simple white tiered wedding cake.  A handful of fresh lavender sprigs, carefully laid around the top layers of the cake, and around its base a circlet of rosemary and bay leaves.  Really achievable for any DIY bride.  This cake is from an equally gorgeous Californian wedding I recently spied. Pretty lace flower girl dress inspired by days gone by

I came across this pretty little dress today, made from organic cotton and silk, and Scottish lace.  For me a little flower girl or bridesmaid in a dress that has an old fashioned feel is just right for a wedding.  Some of you might remember this flower girl dress that I loved so much.
