Who am I?

My name is Charlie and I live in Cheshire with my husband, three lovely bunnies and Buddy the dog.

We got married on 21st May 2011 at my family home in the Cotswolds. It was a rustic country wedding, with lots of help from our family and friends, and plenty of handmade, eco-friendly and vintage details. You can see photos from our wedding and read about the details here by clicking on the 'Our Country Wedding' button that you'll find on the right of the screen.

How the website came about

Without realising it, I’ve always loved wedding, ever since I was little. My Sylvanian families were forever having weddings, and Tom Teddy and Rosie Rabbit used to marry regularly on the staircase, the other toys lining the stairs to form an aisle.

It wasn’t until I was studying abroad in Canada as part of my university degree that weddings reappeared in my life. I’m not quite sure how, but an idea was sparked when I came across an American book called ‘Organic Weddings’. With a growing interest in environmental issues, I set about researching companies in the UK that offered eco-friendly wedding products or services.

From there, The Natural Wedding Company grew. The original website I designed and created myself, launching it in March 2007. The website has grown over the years, culminating in my own wedding which I hope inspires other brides to have a beautiful wedding that is meaningful, handcrafted and doesn’t cost the earth.

In 2011 the website was re-launched with a fresh new look and fantastic new features - I hope that you will enjoy looking around and that it will be a useful planning tool and source of inspiration whilst you plan your wedding.
